Eighteen years ago, Mel Gibson and his wife, Robyn Denice Moore, decided to separate after 31 years of marriage and seven children. At that time, their divorce became the most expensive in history, with Mel owing Robyn $425 million.
When Mel Gibson met Robyn Denice Moore, he was a young actor with dreams of making it big in Hollywood. His life changed dramatically after his breakthrough role in the 1979 movie Mad Max.
The following year, he married Robyn and welcomed their first child, Hannah Gibson, now 44.
Throughout their 31-year marriage, Mel and Robyn had a total of seven children.
After Hannah came twins Edward and Christian Gibson, both 42, born in 1982. In 1985, they welcomed William Gibson, now 39, followed by Louis Gibson in 1988, who is now 36. Their sixth child, Milo Gibson, was born in 1990 and is currently 34. The couple’s youngest child together, Thomas Gibson, was born in 1999 and is now 25.
In addition to his children with Robyn, Mel has two more children with different women.
In 2009, he had his second daughter, Lucia Gibson, with Russian singer Oksana Grigorieva.
Eight years later, Mel’s youngest child, Lars Gerard Gibson, was born, whom he had with his girlfriend Rosalind Ross. Mel met Rosalind, who was born in 1990, in 2014 when she was working as a screenwriter for one of his productions. Despite a 34-year age difference, their relationship has endured for ten years, and Rosalind has continued her career as an actress.
Mel’s longest relationship remains with his ex-wife, Robyn Denice Moore. The couple decided to separate in 2003, but remained married for three more years before Robyn filed for divorce, ultimately receiving about $425 million. This was roughly half of Gibson’s estimated fortune, making it one of the most expensive divorce settlements in Hollywood history.
As for Robyn Denice Moore, she previously worked as a dental hygienist and never sought the spotlight.
There is no information about what Robyn is doing today, but considering the $425 million she received from the divorce, she probably never needs to work again.
According to the magazine Nicki Swift, Mel Gibson’s ex-wife bought a home in Malibu, California, in 2022 and has two other homes in the area from before.
The home purchases are yet another sign that Robyn has no financial worries – but beyond her properties, there is no information on what Robyn is doing today.
This was one of the most high-profile divorce settlements of its time. The amount Mel Gibson had to pay was huge. While Robyn tends to keep a low profile despite her wealth, it seems she has still been making big purchases.
