John Legend and Chrissy Teigen are known for openly sharing photos of their four young children online.
Despite some parents opting to keep their children’s faces hidden, the celebrity couple regularly posts endearing behind-the-scenes moments that would otherwise remain unseen by the public.
However, a recent photo shared by Legend just before this year’s Oscars stirred up controversy for the family of six.
Ahead of the Academy Awards, Legend posted a picture of himself with 13-month-old Esti. They were pictured walking hand in hand towards the camera, both dressed in only tops.
Legend sported half of a tuxedo while Esti wore a lacy pink dress.
“Ready,” the singer-songwriter captioned the adorable snapshot.

His followers swiftly commented on the precious father-daughter moment. Many noted how Legend appeared prepared for a remote work meeting, quipping, “Must be ready for a Zoom call!”
However, some viewers didn’t find the photo amusing and instead criticized the father of four for not wearing pants.
“John, I understand your intention with this picture, but why show the world that you look like you’re not wearing pants? Looking at the bottom of your shirt, you’re a father… Show some respect. Why post this? There are things you should consider before posting. This doesn’t look good at all. I admire your talent, but this isn’t cute!!”
“Super cringe…”
“This is inappropriate. People need to be more careful about what they share these days.”
“This is so tasteless and inappropriate.”
“Why do people support this? It’s not funny, it’s weird.”
Legend later took to Instagram to reassure his followers that he did indeed wear pants to the Oscars.
