Despite not being nominated for an award at this year’s Academy of Country Music event, Miranda Lambert captivated everyone with a “frisky” gown that commanded the audience’s attention.
The Texas native, often hailed as the “country queen” with “so much swagger,” turned heads on the red carpet in a daring, barely-there dress. Her bold fashion choice received a mixed response from fans, with some praising her confidence and others suggesting she opts for “trashy over classy.”

On May 17, Reba McEntire hosted the 59th annual American Country Music Awards (ACMA) at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas.
The event featured performances by hitmakers such as Jelly Roll, Post Malone, Dua Lipa, Blake Shelton, and his ex-wife, the stunning Miranda Lambert. Before debuting her new single, Lambert dazzled on the red carpet in a breathtaking gown.
Although Lambert was not nominated this year, her illustrious career includes 37 ACM Awards. She most recently won Video of the Year and the prestigious Entertainer of the Year award at the 2022 ceremonies.
‘Country elegance’
Walking the red carpet with her husband Brendan McLoughlin, a former cop turned devoted partner, the Nashville star made a stunning entrance in a high-slit black dress with a plunging V-neckline. She completed her look with a silver belt adorned with light blue embellishments and a chic silver purse. McLoughlin, her husband of five years, matched her elegance in a sleek black suit and tie.
Online fans were quick to praise Lambert, 40, and McLoughlin, who married in 2019 after a whirlwind two-month romance, for their spectacular red carpet appearances.
One fan wrote, “You’re always well put together, Miranda… in country elegance. And Brendan’s suits (loved his boutonnière) complement you too.”
Another commented, “He is so proud of her. She is gorgeous. Look at those smiles,” referring to her adoring husband.

However, not everyone agreed that her dress was “country” or “elegant.”
Critics, shocked by Lambert’s revealing neckline, also shared their harsh opinions.
“She needs to put some clothes on,” one critic wrote.
Another said, “Wow, cover up the top a little. No need to give a free show!” and a third added, “She has always preferred trashy to classy. Not surprised.”
One more critic remarked, “So country girls are starting to dress like the other genre.”
Cheeky cowgirl
Later, Miranda Lambert swapped her gown for a cheeky cowgirl look as she took the stage to perform the live debut of her single, “Wranglers.”
The “Kerosene” singer stepped out in dark denim, a jacket with fringes dangling from the arms, and a bedazzled cowboy hat, with two braids peeking out from the sides.
One fan gushed, “LOVE the outfit with the chaps,” referring to the black leather chaps, also embellished with fringe, that Lambert wore over her denim jeans.
Another fan enthused, “You’re the BEST dressed couple at the CMAs. And last but not least, ‘Wranglers’ was perfectly h-o-t!!! Well done.”
A second fan, making a reference to Frisco – where the event was held – quipped, “Now, they have changed the name to Frisky, Texas.”
“They slayed that carpet like she slayed her performance,” added another.
Falling apart at the seams
Meanwhile, the evening wasn’t quite as smooth for McLoughlin, who experienced a wardrobe malfunction when his seams started to come apart.
On Instagram, he shared a photo of his pants with a massive hole right in the groin area, captioning it, “Fun times were had last night…Pants held on until the very end.”

Fans quickly jumped into the comments section to joke about the mishap. One fan wrote, “That happens when you’re runnin’ with the fastest girl in town.”
Another commented, “I love how nothing is a big deal with these two, they simply just go with it. You both look stunning!”
Lambert herself added, “Free ballin!”
