Harry’s relationships & girlfriends over the years

Despite the somber undertones of Prince Harry’s memoir, he also delves into lighter topics, such as his romantic relationships and past girlfriends.

From 2004 to 2010, Prince Harry’s relationship with Chelsy Davy stood as one of his most enduring. Contrary to popular belief, their initial encounter didn’t occur during Harry’s gap year in Cape Town but rather earlier, with a serendipitous reconnection in Africa in 2004.

Harry elucidates on the duality of their relationship, shaped by their experiences in both Africa and the UK. However, the strain of constant public scrutiny and the invasive nature of tabloid attention ultimately led to their parting ways in 2010.

The breakup was amicable, with Harry acknowledging Chelsy’s desire for autonomy and freedom from the relentless media spotlight. He understood her decision to prioritize her personal freedom, despite his own longing for their continued companionship.

After his split from Chelsy Davy, Harry found that the women he dated shared similar sentiments about the press, believing that living under such intense scrutiny was overwhelming.

A year post his breakup with Davy, Harry entered a relationship with Florence Brudenell-Bruce. However, it wasn’t until he released “Spare” that Harry officially acknowledged his relationship with “Flea.”

They enjoyed a blissful few weeks together until media stories about them began circulating. Ultimately, Harry disclosed that Florence’s mother advised her to terminate the relationship.

Harry’s last girlfriend before meeting Meghan Markle

“It was Flea’s mother who advised her to end things, cautioning her about the relentless intrusion of the press. ‘They’ll hound you to the gates of Hell,’ her mother warned. ‘Yeah,’ I agreed with my friend. ‘Mums do know best,’” Harry penned.

Before Harry met Meghan Markle and settled down, he also courted Cressida Bonas. Regrettably, their love story didn’t endure, but in the end, Harry and Cressida’s relationship held significance on another level.

During that period, Harry had just commenced his military career. Naturally, he couldn’t spend as much quality time with his then-partner as he desired, while she, concurrently, was striving to establish herself as an actress.

Their relationship persisted for two years before it became public knowledge.

In “Spare,” Harry disclosed that Cressida was the first person he felt comfortable crying in front of when discussing his mother’s passing. He felt “indebted” to her.

“Wiping my eyes, I thanked her,” Harry recalled. “She was the first person to help me across that barrier, to help me unleash the tears. It was cathartic, it accelerated our bond, and added an element rare in past relationships: immense gratitude. I was indebted to Cress.”

Harry and Cressida remained close friends. She even attended the wedding when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle exchanged vows in 2018.

Harry reveals how he lost his virginity in ‘Spare’

Throughout the years, Harry’s name was associated with numerous women. However, it was ultimately the Suits actress Meghan Markle who captured his heart.

While readers found the revelations about his past romances intriguing, it’s another, more intimate section of his book that is currently receiving all the attention.

Harry revealed and gave details of when and how he lost his virginity in his book – and now the woman he was with has given her side of the story.

The experience, at age 17, was quite something, with the Prince detailing how he lost his virginity in a field behind a pub – with an older, horse-loving woman.

“A humiliating episode with an older woman who liked macho horses and who treated me like a young stallion,” Harry wrote about the experience, which occurred when he was a student at Eton in 2001.

“Quick ride, after which she’d smacked my rump and sent me off to graze. Among the many things about it that were wrong: It happened in a grassy field behind a busy pub. Obviously, someone had seen us.”

Naturally, everyone was curious about the identity of the mystery woman, prompting the British papers to immediately begin their investigations. One individual questioned was former model and avid horsewoman, Suzannah Harvey. However, in an interview with the Times, she refuted any connection to the matter.

“Not me. Not guilty. Ha!” Harvey said.

Sasha Walpole steps forward as the “older woman”

At first, the identity of the woman Harry had initially been involved with remained undisclosed. However, just days ago, Sasha Walpole made the decision to come forward.

As soon as the tell-all book – with Harry’s bombshell revelation about losing his virginity – was released, Sasha felt she had to tell her father that she was the one.

During an interview with The Sun, Walpole disclosed that she had only confided in her mother about her intimate encounter with Harry before. The pub behind which Harry said he lost his virginity was the Vine Tree Inn in Wiltshire.

“I am the woman who took Harry’s virginity. It was literally wham-bam between two friends. [It was] passionate and sparky because we shouldn’t have been doing it,” Walpole said.

She added: “We went outside, and both climbed a three-bar fence to the field. We were quite drunk at this point. I gave Harry a cigarette. I lit mine and then his. We finished our cigarettes – Marlboro Lights – and it just happened. He started to kiss me.”

Sasha added that neither of them said a word while it happened.

“It was exciting that it was happening. It was exciting that it was happening like the way it was. We were away for 15 minutes, but the [intercourse lasted] about five minutes,” she explained, saying that they had to go in separate directions back to the pub.

“In hindsight, it dawned on me that it was probably more conspicuous,” Sasha reflected.

“After we finished, I climbed back over the fence through the garden. A crowd had gathered outside since it was closing time. When my friends saw me, they burst into laughter. Not having my belt and appearing a bit disheveled after being in the field made it quite obvious,” she recounted.

“We were away for about 15 minutes, long enough for security to start worrying about his whereabouts,” she added.

Sasha, just a couple of years older than Harry, had been employed at the stable at Prince Charles’ residence, Highgrove House. She confessed to being friends with Harry. At the time, they had reportedly known each other for approximately two years.

Earlier that evening, they had been celebrating Sasha’s birthday with tequila and sambuca. After that night, they never communicated again.

“Harry and I never texted or rang each other after that. I didn’t mind. I wasn’t embarrassed,” Sasha said.

“Was I disappointed he didn’t ring? No. It was circumstances, we weren’t going out, we didn’t need to ring each other.”

Sasha Walpole says it’s “awkward” reading what Harry wrote

Shortly after The Sun published the story, Sasha gave an interview to the Daily Mail, where she expressed her doubts about the Prince’s decision to write about their first encounter. While she didn’t express any objection to him writing about the event, she remarked that it wasn’t as magnificent as he had portrayed it.

“I don’t understand why he went into such detail. He could have said that he lost his virginity and left it at that,” Walpole said.

“He has done this to my privacy because I was going to keep my head down and not talk about it. If it wasn’t in the book, none of this would be happening.”

She further told The Sun: “It is awkward because of what Harry has written about me slapping his bum, really cringey. It flared up because of the way Harry has written it. That is why I am in this situation.”

Sasha also noted that she has received strong support from her parents since revealing her identity.

“Harry has made it public,” she remarked. “My parents are primarily concerned about my safety. Their main focus is ensuring my well-being.”
