The Palace released a statement earlier today confirming that Princess Anne, 73, was hospitalized as a precaution after sustaining minor injuries and a concussion. The exact cause remains unconfirmed.

According to CNN, a source alleged that the princess was walking near horses on her estate in Gatcombe Park, Gloucestershire, when the incident occurred.

While the exact cause of the injuries has not been made public, Princess Anne’s medical team indicated that her injuries are consistent with a potential impact from a horse’s head or legs.

“The Princess Royal has sustained minor injuries and concussion following an incident on the Gatcombe Park estate yesterday evening,” stated Buckingham Palace on Monday. “Her Royal Highness remains in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, as a precautionary measure for observation and is expected to make a full and swift recovery.”

Emergency services were dispatched to Anne’s estate, providing medical care at the scene before she was transferred to Southmead Hospital for further tests, treatment, and observation.

The Palace added that King Charles “has been kept closely informed and joins the whole Royal Family in sending his fondest love and well-wishes to The Princess for a speedy recovery.”

As a senior member of the Royal Family, Princess Anne has always lived her life in the spotlight. However, she has garnered attention more for her personal life and interests rather than her royal duties.

In her youth, Anne focused on enjoying herself and her passions. She began taking on public engagements at 18 in 1969, but she had other interests, particularly horse riding. By age 11, she had already competed in horse riding events, even winning a jumping event at Windsor Home Park.

She continued riding at the private Benenden School and frequently visited the Moat House Riding School.

“I thought if I was going to do anything outside of the royal family, horses was likely to be the best way of doing it,” Princess Anne told royal author Katie Nicholl in Vanity Fair. She explained that finding the right horse was crucial and satisfying, even though it was a limited time endeavor.
