Princess Kate Shares First Update Since Cancer Diagnosis. She addressed everyone personally.

Kate, the Princess of Wales, has captured global attention in recent months following her disclosure of a cancer diagnosis and commencement of chemotherapy.

Her prolonged absence from public view has been expected. However, today marked her return as she provided her initial update on her cancer journey and disclosed plans for her first public appearance.

In a personal statement released this afternoon, Kate acknowledged her ongoing battle with cancer, stating she is “not out of the woods yet.” Despite this, she announced her intention to resume public duties this summer, beginning with her participation in the Trooping the Colour ceremony on Saturday.

This annual event, held in London, commemorates the official birthday of King Charles III.

“I’m looking forward to attending The King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to participate in a few public engagements over the summer, all while recognizing that I am not out of the woods yet,” Kate wrote in her statement.

“I am learning to be patient, especially in the face of uncertainty. I take each day as it comes, listen to my body, and allow myself the necessary time to heal.”

The Princess of Wales also shared details of her cancer journey for the first time, acknowledging that while she still has a long way to go and has encountered challenges, she is making good progress.

“I have been overwhelmed by the kind messages of support and encouragement over the past couple of months,” she wrote. “They have made a world of difference to William and me, helping us through some of the tougher times.”

“I am making good progress, but as anyone undergoing chemotherapy knows, there are good days and bad days. On the bad days, you feel weak and tired, and you have to listen to your body and rest. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.”

“My treatment is ongoing and will continue for a few more months. On the days I feel well enough, it brings me joy to engage with school life, spend time on activities that give me energy and positivity, and start doing a bit of work from home.”

The statement also included a photo of Kate standing outside by a tree.

This is the first official photo of the royal since the palace released a reportedly doctored Mother’s Day image of Kate and her children, which sparked a media frenzy and widespread speculation about her health.

Kate’s health has been in the news since January, when she announced she would be hospitalized for what was initially reported as an abdominal surgery. However, her prolonged absence from public life fueled rumors that her health was worse than the palace was admitting.

The doctored photo and the ensuing “Kate-Gate” media storm led Catherine to release a video message in March. In this message, she revealed her cancer diagnosis, her ongoing chemotherapy, and the extension of her leave of absence.

Meanwhile, King Charles III has also been battling cancer. He announced his diagnosis in February and has since returned to public duties.

We are delighted that the Princess of Wales is making great progress in her cancer battle and will soon return to attend public events! We eagerly await her return!
