Aging is a funny thing. Most people would say the most confusing part is how your appearance changes, but inside, you still feel the same.
It’s also ironic when people make fun of others for getting older, as if they won’t go through the same process themselves.
At HappyDays, we firmly oppose putting anyone down or criticizing their appearance. That’s why it’s so troubling that it happens so often, especially to celebrities.
The internet has made it too easy for people to share mean opinions without facing consequences. While everyone has a right to their opinions, if you have nothing nice to say, maybe it’s better to stay silent.
This week, iconic actress Sarah Jessica Parker found herself in the social media spotlight over her choice of dress.
At 59, SJP has been in the public eye for a long time, rising to fame with the hit series “Sex and the City.” She’s no stranger to the ever-changing opinions online.
Even so, she might not have expected some of the negative comments on a picture she shared from the set. The image showed Jessica Parker, in her famous role as Carrie, wearing a sheer nude dress that revealed her orange underwear and black bra.
While most people expressed their appreciation for the actress, some criticized the costume.
“Yeah, why did they assume her style would be like this in her 50s?” pondered one person on Instagram.
“She’s too old,” added another.
A third commented: “Clothes are horrible, terrible fashion.”
Others were kinder, writing things like: “Carrie hasn’t aged a day.”
“The cutest 🤍 our Carrie is backkk,” another said.
A third added: “Queen queen queen 👸🏼👸🏼👸🏼”
