As part of the Brown family, Garrison shared the spotlight with siblings Madison, Logan, Gabriel, Hunter, and Savanah, showcasing the dynamics inherent in a non-traditional family structure.

Janelle’s separation from Kody in 2022 marked a significant shift in the family’s dynamics, reflecting the challenges and changes experienced by families both on and off-screen.

Tensions within the Family

In recent years, tensions between Kody and his children, particularly Garrison and his brother Gabriel, had become apparent, with disagreements over issues such as Kody’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I was met with just a wall,” Gabriel shared at the time. “And there was no line of dialogue. I think that that is what really drove the wedge between us.”

Janelle voiced concerns about her sons’ mental health, noting Gabriel’s deep emotions and Garrison’s noticeable change in demeanor. “I have worried about my boys’ mental health. Gabriel feels everything very, very deeply. But he’s also the kid who doesn’t say anything,” she said before adding that Garrison “just seems angry or sadder, like, he’s not as happy-go-lucky as he used to be.”
